Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO) is used primarily for steam boilers in power plants, aboard ships, and industrial plants. It is the most widely used marine fuel at this time used to generate motion and low heat. Virtually all medium and low speed marine diesel engines are designed for Heavy fuel Oil.
